Installing an Application on the Mac
One of the first discoveries I had to make was how to install an application on the Mac.
Admittedly I spent a little time looking for a 'setup.exe', 'install.exe' or an equivalent. It turns out it is simple once you realize you simply drag and drop the application into you application folder the frustration diminishes.
However, there are some applications that use an installer. These applications come in the form of a package (*.pkg). Simply double click the package and you will run the installer.
A well written Wiki on installing applications on the Mac is here.
